Kim Keum Hee was born in 1979 in Seoul. She made her literary debut in 2009 when she won the Hankook Ilbo New Writer’s Award. She has been drawing attention for her vivid portrayals of life’s ordeals through her characters. Her full-length novels include Kyungae’s Heart, Maggie, My Love. Her short story collections include Sentimentality Works Only for a Day or Two, Too Bright Outside for Love, I’ve Been Thinking about It for a Very Long Time and Only One Person’s Share. She is the recipient of the Shin Dong-yup Prize for Literature, Munhakdongne Young Writer’s’ Award, and Hyundae Literary Award.
