[One on One] (What’s Hidden) Meets the Eye

Sometimes, silence says more. The reason why stillness makes people uncomfortable is because it forces our minds to fill the void. Isn’t the unconsciousness of filling in the blanks with each of our own sounds a literary time hiding within the everyday? Literature is the work of a person who pays closer attention to what does not meet the eye, to what goes unheard. The voice hidden in our daily life packaged in common sense and causality thrusts the truth you’d rather avoid right before your eyes. The shocking events that crop up in literature are not merely forgotten fantasies; rather, they are like lenses that allow us to see and feel reality more clearly. Hwang Yeo Jung, a writer who captures even the faintest cracks in the shell that fits snugly around our everyday lives. Elvira Navarro, a writer who draws a subtle boundary between reality and the outside world. Together with them both, we will explore the fact that what is hidden from view always exceeds us. • Language: Korean, Spanish
