Born in Seoul, South Korea, Don Mee Choi is the author of the National Book Awards- winning collection. She has published DMZ Colony, Hardly War, The Morning News Is Exciting and several pamphlets of poems and essays. She is a recipient of numerous awards: MacArthur Fellowship, Guggenheim Fellowship, DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Fellowship, Lannan Literary Fellowship, Lucien Stryk Translation Prize, and Whiting Award. She has translated several collections of Kim Hyesoon’s poetry, including Autobiography of Death, which received the 2019 Griffin Poetry Prize.
