Jeong Ji A was born in 1965 in Gurye, South Jeolla Province. In 1990 she made her debut with the novel The Partisan's Daughter, which documented the lives of her parents who were partisans. Afterwards, her work explored the inner lives of individuals wounded in history, publishing the novels Happiness, Light of Spring, The Forest Speaks, and Enemy of Capitalism. In 2022, her novel Father's Liberation Diary, which humorously portrayed the death of a partisan father, was praised for enabling understanding and reconciliation between characters from different generations and ideologies.
