Jeon Hayoung Novelist South Korea
Born in Seoul in 1980, Jeon Hayoung studied Sociology at Korea University and Film, Video, New Media, and Animation at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She was awarded the Munhakdongne New Writers’ Award in 2019 for her story “Influence,” after which she began publishing fiction. She won the 2021 Young Writers’ Award grand prize with her story “She Spent a Lot of Time Under the Lights.” Jeon is the author of the short story collection Time Differences and Anachronisms.
